Austal Receives Order For An Additional Two Royal Australian Navy Patrol Boats

A contract has been confirmed for two additional patrol boats between Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO), the Australian Government Defence Forces purchasing body, and Defence Maritime Services (DMS) with whom Austal is the designer and builder of the 56 metre Armidale Class patrol boat for the Royal Australian Navy.

The new patrol boats will add to the current order for twelve vessels and will be supplied in late 2007 for specific duty in Australia’s North West serving the protection needs of offshore oil and gas assets and other patrol duties.
