US NAVY AWARDS AUSTAL US$12M FOR LCS POST DELIVERY SERVICES WORK

Austal Limited (Austal) (ASX:ASB) is pleased to announce that the United States Department of Defense has awarded Austal USA US$12,283,922 for a cost-plus-award-fee against previously awarded Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00024-15-G-2304.

The Order (7F18) will provide engineering and management services for advance planning and design in support of the Post Shakedown Availability for the Littoral Combat Ship USS Omaha (LCS-12).

Austal will provide supplies, services, labour and material for this effort, which includes Program Management and Subcontract Management.

Fiscal Year 2012 shipbuilding and conversion (Navy) funding in the amount of US$3,382,814 and Fiscal Year 2017 shipbuilding and conversion (Navy) funding in the amount of US$7,767,232 will be obligated at time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Work is expected to be completed by August 2018.

The Littoral Combat Ship is a 127 meter, Frigate sized vessel that is constructed in Austal’s US shipyard in Mobile, Alabama. Austal’s Mobile shipyard continues to operate with progressively improving production and cost efficiencies from its world class production facilities.
